Niki Gallant-McLaughlin

A LITTLE BACKGROUND – I was born in PEI and after many years “away”, my husband Peter and I happily returned in 2019.  After getting my BPE and MA Kin, I became a Rehabilitative Exercise Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer in Halifax. With a move to Oakville, ON this busy mom of three focused on growing a ladies only running group. Now with our kids in their 20’s, I fill my time with working with my husband and Team at ANNE Chocolates, running with Nik’s Chicks PEI, triathlon training and volunteer visits with our 2 certified therapy dogs.

SPINNING HISTORY – I started instructing way back when spinning was a new fitness trend.

In Ontario I was an avid spinner – enjoying the group dynamic and being “told what to do”!  Spinning was also a way for this fair weather cyclist to continue cycling with friends through the cold weather months.

GOTTA KEEP MOVING – I’ve always been an active person with varied interests. Back in 2002 I began doing triathlons and joyfully completed my first Ironman in 2022! Despite not absolutely loving to swim/bike/run, the sport of triathlon has captured me. I’ve come to enjoy the challenge of improving in every discipline and the satisfaction of crossing a finish line. You don’t have to excel at a sport/activity to reap the many benefits of moving your body!

WHAT TO EXPECT – I’ve been told that I’m a great “nudger”! Helping people get the most out of their workouts is so fulfilling. My sessions will have a variety of music from the 50s to the 90s – fun stuff that keeps you motivated and moving. I’m getting back into instructing so expect to find a friendly and fun vibe when you walk through the door… a perfect environment for newbies!
